Paint spraying guns are an efficient way to paint a wide variety of surfaces, including walls, cabinets and ceilings. However, they must be used properly in order to gain the best finish. In our latest post, we discuss the benefits of using paint spray guns and top tips to get a great paint finish.

Speed

One of the main advantages of using a paint spray gun is the speed at which you can cover an area. Consequently, paint spray guns are a great tool to use when attempting to cover a large surface area.

Even Application

Another great advantage of using a paint spray gun is the even application of paint. When using a paintbrush or roller, it is easy to apply the paint very thickly and then struggle to disperse it evenly across the wall, before it dries.

Paint spray guns are highly portable, meaning you can move with the gun to get an even coverage, effortlessly, unlike when using a brush or roller which requires you to stop and move to a new section.

Top Tips for Using Paint Spraying Guns

Just like any other decorating tool, if you don’t use it correctly, things can go wrong. Let’s take a look at ways you can avoid a painting disaster

Due to the force at which a paint spray gun will cover an area, you will need to cover anything else that you do not want paint on.

If you are using a paint spray gun for the first time, always practice on another surface, such as a large piece of cardboard. Once you feel comfortable with the speed at which the gun works, move onto your project.

Minimise paint buildup by using a cloth to wipe down the tip of the spray gun.

Keep moving at a steady pace to coat the surface evenly. Too much paint in one place will cause dripping.
